Calendar Setup
Connect your calendar to Chalie via CalDAV.
Connecting your calendar
Chalie syncs with your calendar over CalDAV — an open protocol supported by most calendar providers.
Step by step
- Open the Brain panel (the ⚙️ icon in the sidebar)
- Switch to the Capabilities tab
- Find Calendar and toggle it on
- Enter your CalDAV connection details:
- Server URL — your provider’s CalDAV endpoint
- Username — typically your email address
- Password — your account password or app-specific password
- Click Test Connection to verify the sync works
Common provider URLs
| Provider | CalDAV URL |
|---|---|
| Google Calendar | https://www.googleapis.com/caldav/v2/ |
| iCloud | https://caldav.icloud.com/ |
| Fastmail | https://caldav.fastmail.com/dav/calendars/ |
| Nextcloud | https://your-server.com/remote.php/dav/ |
| Radicale | https://your-server.com/ |
Google Calendar users
Google Calendar works over CalDAV but requires an App Password:
- Go to myaccount.google.com
- Navigate to Security → 2-Step Verification → App passwords
- Create a new app password for “Calendar”
- Use the generated password in Chalie’s calendar settings
Multiple calendars
If your account has multiple calendars (personal, work, holidays), Chalie syncs all of them. When you create an event, you can specify which calendar: “Add a meeting to my work calendar.”
Troubleshooting
- Connection refused — verify the CalDAV URL is correct for your provider
- Authentication failed — check username and password; Google/iCloud users may need an App Password
- No events showing — ensure the CalDAV URL points to the correct calendar collection, not just the server root
- Sync delay — Chalie fetches events in real time, but some providers cache aggressively; changes made in other apps may take a few minutes to appear
