Team Update Writer

Drafting internal communications including 3P updates, company newsletters, status reports, and leadership updates.

What it does

Drafting internal communications including 3P updates, company newsletters, status reports, and leadership updates.

Procedure

When this skill is activated, Chalie follows these steps:

  1. Use memory to recall the team’s recent work, shipped items, and any prior update format preferences.
  2. Use memory to recall any stored format preferences, then identify the communication type from the user’s request: 3P update (Progress/Plans/Problems), newsletter, FAQ roundup, or general status report.
  3. Use calendar to check the current week’s events and completed milestones that should be referenced in the update.
  4. Use memory to gather any stored accomplishments or blockers, then ask the user to confirm or add: key accomplishments, plans for next period, blockers or problems, and any items to include or exclude.
  5. Use document to draft the communication using the appropriate structure — for 3P: Progress (shipped, completed), Plans (next period goals), Problems (blockers needing help); for newsletters: headline, team updates, metrics, and next steps.
  6. Use document to write in active voice using “we” — lead with the most important information, include metrics and specifics where available, and keep it scannable.
  7. Present the draft from document to the user for review and refine based on feedback.
  8. Use email to send the approved update, or use document to save it for distribution through another channel.
