What it does
Research a purchase — compare products, find the best price, check reviews, and recommend the best option.
Procedure
When this skill is activated, Chalie follows these steps:
- Use
memoryto recall any stored purchase preferences or brand notes, then ask what the user wants to buy, their budget, and the 2–3 most important criteria (e.g. price, durability, specific feature, brand preference). - Use
memoryto recall any prior preferences, brands to avoid, or past purchase context. - Use
searchto find the top 4–6 products in the category that fit the budget — look for both editorial recommendations and retailer listings. - Use
readto extract specs, pricing, and availability from the most relevant product pages or comparison sites. - Use
searchto find independent user reviews for the top 3 candidates — look for patterns in complaints and praise rather than single reviews. - Use
browserif a retailer site requires JS to display pricing or availability correctly. - Use
documentto produce a comparison table: product name, price, key specs, and pros/cons — then give a clear recommendation with the single most important reason for the choice. - Use
listto add the recommended item to a shopping list if the user wants to track it.
