What it does

Produce a concise news briefing on one or more topics, companies, or industries for a specific time window.

Procedure

When this skill is activated, Chalie follows these steps:

  1. Use memory to recall any standing briefing topics, then ask the user which topics, companies, or industries to cover, and the desired time window (today, this week, last 30 days).
  2. Use memory to recall any standing briefing preferences — sources to prioritise, topics to exclude, or format preferences.
  3. Use news to search for recent articles on each topic within the time window.
  4. Use search to supplement news results with any web coverage not surfaced by the news tool, especially for niche or technical topics.
  5. Use read to extract full content from the 2–3 most significant articles per topic.
  6. Use document to group stories by topic and rank within each group by newsworthiness (impact × recency × source authority).
  7. Present the briefing from document: one paragraph per topic with 2–4 bullet points for key stories, each with headline, source, date, and a one-sentence take on why it matters.
  8. Use document to save the briefing if the user wants a record, and use memory to update any standing topic-tracking context.
