Decision Log

Recording, reviewing, and tracking key decisions and action items with owners and deadlines.

What it does

Recording, reviewing, and tracking key decisions and action items with owners and deadlines.

Procedure

When this skill is activated, Chalie follows these steps:

  1. Use memory to recall any existing decision log context or prior decisions relevant to this topic.
  2. Ask the user for the decision details — what was decided, who owns it, the deadline, and the rationale — then record a structured entry in document including: date, topic, decision statement, owner, deadline, rationale, and rejected alternatives.
  3. Use document to append the new decision to the persistent decision log, preserving all prior decisions.
  4. Use schedule to create a reminder for the owner’s deadline so follow-up is not missed.
  5. To review the log, use document to retrieve the full decision log.
  6. Use document to surface all open action items from the retrieved log, grouped by owner and due date.
  7. Flag any items past their deadline and ask the user whether to update, escalate, or close them — then use document to write back any changes.
  8. Use memory to store the most recent decision summary so it surfaces automatically in future planning discussions.
